Stanford Blood Center is holding a Community Blood Drive in Almaden Valley.
Since 1978, Stanford Medical School Blood Center has been providing tailored blood products and samples, as well as clinical trial services, for its staff of primary investigators and researchers in Stanford University and the biotech community.
Almaden Valley Athletic Club is offering a personalized safety course for women called Training for Life. You will learn how to create a “window of opportunity,” and proven escape techniques.
The course instructors include Eric Frost, Ev Pepper, and Daniele McCollum. All of the instructors are certified in self defense and personal safety.
The program is at Almaden Valley Athletic Club on Friday, May 13, 2011, from 6:00-7:30pm. The price is $24.95 for AVAC Members and $29.95 for Non-Members. If you sign-up with a buddy, the price is only $19.95 per person.

- Pranayama – the art and science of the rhythmical control of the breath
- Key yoga practices and yoga anatomy
- Establishing a strong foundation to further develop your own practice
The workshop will start with chanting and a short meditation, and finish with discussion and reflection on the experience.
Update: The Pranayama and Meditation workshop with Elena Milyukova is being rescheduled for a later date. The workshop will not take place on Saturday March 26, 2011. The rescheduled date will be announced once it has been confirmed.
The session is at Almaden Yoga on Saturday, March 26, 2011 from 3-5pm. The price is $20 for members and $25 for non-members.

The program delivers great results for working women, athletes, and stay-at-home moms. The camp environment is fun, non-competitive, and supportive. Sessions are run by Lindsay Barker, Exercise Physiologist.
Mission Fitness Boot Camp is holding its next four-week session in Almaden Valley beginning February 14, 2011 and ending March 11, 2011. You’ll get in shape and look great just in time for Spring!
