Almaden Community Center 2023 Spring Activity Guide

Almaden Community Center Spring 2023 Activity GuideThe Almaden Community Center 2023 Spring Activity Guide is now available! General registration for community center classes, spring break camp and a wide variety of summer camps opens Feb. 25 at 10am. You can register in person at Almaden Community Center or online at www.sjregistration.com.

Dozens of week-long full- and half-day summer camps will take place at the Almaden Community Center or at neighboring parks. Camp instructors are from Mad Science of the Bay, Play-Well TEKnologies, Dance Arts Academy, Young Rembrandts, Futsal Kings, Skyhawks Sports Academy, Engineering for Kids, and more.

Early registration for Active Adults 50+ begins online and in person on Wednesday Feb. 22 at 10am. From creative crafts to pickleball, there’s something for everyone!

Almaden Community Center 2022 Spring The Almaden Community Center 2022 Spring Activity Guide is now available! Registration for community center classes, spring break camp and a wide variety of summer camps begins Feb. 26 at 10am. You can register in person at Almaden Community Center or online at www.sjregistration.com.

Spring break camp for ages 5-12 will be held at the Almaden Community Center Monday-Friday April 11-15 from 8am-6pm.

Dozens of week-long full- and half-day summer camps will take place at the Almaden Community Center or at neighboring parks starting the week of 6/6-6/10 and continuing through the week of 8/15-8/19. Camp instructors are from such groups as Mad Science of the Bay Area, Young Rembrandts, Futsal Kings, Skyhawks Sports Academy, Engineering for Kids, Dance Arts Academy and more.

Registration for Active Adults 50+ begins on Feb. 23 at 10am.

The Almaden Community Center is located at 6445 Camden Ave., San Jose, CA 95120. The center follows all state and county guidelines regarding mask requirements and daily health screenings. Spring is well under way, and with just a few short weeks left of the school year, are you wondering how to keep your kids engaged during the summer? Dance

From fairy-tale themed dances for the tiny tots to the more energetic hip-hop and cheerleading style moves for the older kids, the dance camps will have them moving and grooving in no time. Look up:

The Almaden Community Center Fall 2018 Catalog is here, with a host of exciting new activities and programs lined up, including…

Art Start by CLAP (ages 3 – 5) – This activity focuses on developing fine motor skills through drawing, textures, collages and other art techniques. All material provided.

Cartoon Animation by Young Rembrandts (ages 7 – 14) – Develop a sense of humor by learning how to draw and illustrate goofy expressions and hilarious situations in cartoons.

Junior Chemical Engineering: Crazy Connections by Engineering for Kids (ages 5 – 7) – Experiment with bubbles, playdough and other material to learn more about solids, liquids and gases.

Chemical Engineering: Mix it Up by Engineering for Kids (ages 8 – 12) – Create your own rocket fuel or find out the secrets behind color pigmentation. Participants will use various ingredients to create mixtures, solutions and learn about chemical reactions.

Little Wilderness Medicine by Little Medical School (ages 5 – 12) – Learn valuable outdoor skills including how to deal with weather exposure, snake bites and other outdoor emergencies in this cool program about Wilderness Medicine.

Minecraft, Animated! By Techsplosion (ages 5 – 11) – Make fabulous stop-motion animated movies and create life-like sets using cameras and Minecraft characters.

Junior Wedo Lego Robotics: Robots in Motion by Engineering for Kids (ages 5 – 7) – Learn to use and program with Lego Wedo Robotics 2.0. After completion, kids can move on to Robo Battles.

Ninjago Workshop Using Lego by Play-well Teknology (ages 5 – 8) – Help defeat the evil Lord Garmadon by building cool Lego Ninjago machines and tools!

Registration is now open for Almaden Community Center summer camps!

The Spring 2018 activity guide details a huge variety of summer camps offered from June through August, designed to keep teens and kids of all ages creatively engaged this summer.

Registration has begun for Almaden Community Center Summer 2017 activities and camps. The Summer 2017 brochure has details of activities and camps from June 12, 2017 to August 18, 2017. There are various fun and exciting sports and educational programs on the offer for children and teens. Be sure to take advantage of them!

In addition to activities, here are some other important highlights noted in the brochure:

R.O.C.K. Afterschool Program

Registration for 2017-2018 school year begins on Saturday, July 22, at 10:00 am.

San Jose Recreation Preschool

Details regarding 2017-2018 sessions are provided in the brochure. Sessions span from August 21/22 2017 through May 31/June 1 2018. Contact the community center to register.

Almaden Valley Summer Concert Series

There’s live music coming to your neighborhood with the Almaden Valley Summer Concert Series! Every Thursday night in July you can relax with your friends and family at Graystone Park and enjoy live music. Remember to carry some food and drinks, and don’t forget your chairs. So, mark your calendars for July Thursday nights, 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm at Graystone Park.

Summer is around the corner and if your kids are interested in sports, explore the following summer sports camps in Almaden…

Summer Sports Camps in Almaden - Almaden SoccerSoccer

Almaden Soccer is offering 7 weeks of soccer summer camps from June to August 2017. These camps are open for young soccer players of all abilities, born between 2003 and 2010. They will be held at O’Malley Field 2 (Steinbeck School) from 9:00 am to noon on the following dates:

June: 19-23 and 26-30
July: 10-14, 17-21, and 24-28
August: July 31 – Aug. 4 and Aug. 7-11

TennisSummer Sports Camps in Almaden - Skyhawks Sports

Skyhawks Sports in partnership with the Almaden Community Center is running summer tennis camps for kids of all abilities, ages 7 to 12. These camps will be held in July at the Leland High School tennis courts. The dates are as follows:

July 10-14, 17-21, and 24-28

Summer Sports Camps in Almaden - NJB National Junior BasketballBasketball

The Almaden NJB Youth Basketball League (AVNJB), an affiliate of the National Junior Basketball League (NJB), will be running basketball camps in June and July. The dates are:

June 26-30
July 17-21

Boys and Girls Lacrosse Summer Camps in Almaden Valley – UPDATED 2022

Skyhawks SportsDoes your child love lacrosse? Would they like to work on their skills and bring their game to the next level? If so, Skyhawks Sports is holding boys and girls lacrosse Summer camps in Almaden Valley.

The camp is geared towards kids ages 7 to 12 years old. Each camp includes skill drills, games, and scrimmages. Athletes will learn the fundamentals of stick handling, cradling, passing, and shooting – all in a fun, non-checking environment. Athletes will come away with a deep understanding of the game and its traditions.

LacrosseIn addition to providing health and fitness benefits, participating in Summer lacrosse camp builds self-esteem, respect for others, and teamwork skills. The participant-to-coach ratio is approx 12:1.

The camps are at Simonds Elementary School, July 6-9, 2010, 9am-12pm. The price is $104 per athlete. Register online at San Jose Parks, Recreation & Neighborhood Services. [EVENT IS CLOSED]
