Almaden Springs

Immediately to the south of Almaden Springs is Almaden Quicksilver County Park, a 4,163-acre park with numerous great hiking, biking and running trails as well as various seasonal events. In addition to being near parks and nature, Almaden Springs is also close to Almaden Expressway, with easy access to shops, restaurants, schools and the rest of what Almaden Valley has to offer.

Brookfield Estates

Campagna

Gold Creek

McKean

New Almaden

  • Features: The New Almaden neighborhood is at the southernmost part of Almaden Road in unincorporated Almaden Valley. New Almaden, now a National Historic Landmark district, was California’s first mining operation – the largest quicksilver (mercury) mine the world has even known. Today, New Almaden’s mining legacy can be seen at the Casa Grande and New Almaden Quicksilver Mining Museum, as well as the many historic homes of the mining community alongside the Alamitos Creek. Almaden Quicksilver County Park is the site of over 135 years of mining activities and former home to more than 1,800 miners and their families. The Hacienda entrance to Quicksilver County Park is located at the south end of New Almaden. Homes in the historic part of New Almaden were built at the turn of the 19th century, while newer, grander homes in New Almaden were built at the turn of the 20th century. Most homes in New Almaden are in the San Jose Unified School District, but a few on the outskirts of the community are in the Morgan Hill Unified School District.

Oak Canyon
