Wildflower Hike in Calero’s Rancho San Vicente – UPDATED 2022

Join a Park Docent on a 3-mile hike to enjoy the spring wildflowers and learn how the rolling serpentine grasslands provide critical habitat for endangered species. Enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding foothills along the way.

Bring sturdy hiking shoes, sun protection, snacks, and water. No dogs. This is a guided hike in a “closed area” not yet open for public access; group travels together.

Restrooms not available, except at reservoir meeting location. Reservations required. Register online or call (408) 355-2240.

Meet at Calero Reservoir in Calero’s Rancho San Vicente, then caravan to a gated site nearby. The hike is Saturday, March 31, 2012, 9am-1:30pm. [EVENT IS CLOSED]

Join a Park Docent on a 3-mile hike to enjoy the changing landscape of fall at Rancho San Vicente. Enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding foothills and discover how these rolling serpentine grasslands provide critical habitat for endangered species.

Bring water, snacks and camera. Wear sun protection and sturdy hiking shoes. No dogs. This is a guided hike in a “closed area” not yet open for public access, group travels together.

Guided History and Nature Hike with a Santa Clara County Parks Ranger

Take a 2-mile hike with a Park Ranger to explore Rancho San Vicente’s nature, history, and spectacular views.

Meet at Calero Reservoir in the Calero-Rancho San Vicente Park, then caravan to a gated site nearby. Bring sturdy hiking shoes, snacks, and water. No dogs.

This is a guided hike in a “closed area” not yet open for public access. The group travels together. Restrooms are available only at the reservoir meeting location.

Spring 2011 Wildflower Scavenger Hunt in Almaden Quicksilver County Park – UPDATED 2022

New Almaden Quicksilver County Park Association is holding its annual Wildflower Scavenger Hunt.

Join Docent Kitty Monahan and Friends of New Almaden Quicksilver County Park Association as they take you on a wildflower scavenger hunt in beautiful Quicksilver Park.

This outdoor hunt for flowery delights will take you through various stations at Jacque Ridge along Wood Road Trail in Almaden Quicksilver Park.

The meeting location is at the Wood Road Trail parking lot. The event is Saturday, April 9, 2011 from 10am to 12pm.

Learn the Art and Science of Professional Trail Work in Almaden Quicksilver Park – UPDATED 2022

logo: Almaden Quicksilver ParkHelp the expert County Parks Trail Crew with new trail construction, tread work, and brushing.

Work along some of the most beautiful and pristine trails in Santa Clara Valley while learning the art and science of professional trail work. No special skills are required but the work may be moderately strenuous.

This volunteer work day will focus on brushing trails near the Mockingbird entrance of the Almaden Quicksilver Park. Tools, work gloves, and snacks will be provided. Please bring your own water bottle, which we can refill for you.

The mission of the Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation Department is to provide, protect, and preserve regional park lands for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of current and future generations.

This event is at the Mockingbird entrance of Almaden Quicksilver County Park on Saturday, February 12, 2011, from 9:15am to 11:30am. RSVP online. [EVENT IS CLOSED]
