Mad Science After School Programs in Almaden Valley – UPDATED 2022

Mad ScienceMad Science®, the world’s leading science enrichment provider, is on a mission to spark the imagination and curiosity of children in grades K-5. Mad Science is providing fun, interactive, and educational after school programs Almaden Valley. These programs are designed to instill a clear understanding of what science is really about and how it affects our world.

Mad Science is holding after school programs at Williams Elementary School, Challenger School, and Los Alamitos Elementary School. The programs offered in Almaden Valley include Earth, Wind, Inspire and Movin’ & Groovin’, and begin in early April 2010 and end in late May 2010. (Dates and times vary from school to school.)

Camp Galileo at Almaden Country School – UPDATED 2022

Camp GalileoCamp Galileo is a summer day camp that inspires kids to imagine new ideas, collaborate with peers, and express themselves creatively. Kids enjoy art, science, and outdoor programming every day, all wrapped in fun camp traditions and delivered by highly enthusiastic staff. Camp Galileo is for pre-kinders through 5th graders.

As the week progresses, activities become more sophisticated and culminate toward a project. The hands-on curriculum is developed in partnership with The Tech Museum of Innovation, de Young Museum, and Klutz. Themes for 2010 include the following:

  • Adventures in Flight & Egyptian Art
  • Amusement Park Engineers & Medieval Art
  • Mission to the Moon & Psychedelic ’60s
  • Ocean Expeditions

The camp is being held at Almaden Country School, June 21 through August 6, 2010. Camp is Monday through Friday, 9am to 1pm or 9am to 3pm. Extended care is offered from 8–9am and 3–5:30pm. [EVENT IS CLOSED]

9th Annual Math Enrichment Summer Program at Leland High School – UPDATED 2022

Math Enrichment Summer Program further develops each student’s intellect and knowledge in mathematics and language arts. The curriculum is tailored to the grade the student will be entering for their upcoming school year.

Kindergartners through sixth graders learn math, reading, writing, and computers. Middle school students receive a broad education in college preparatory math courses, from pre-algebra to math analysis. Students can also participate in a wide variety of recreational activities planned throughout the summer, including Toy Story 3 movie day, on-campus carnival, Wii time, field trip to Six Flags Marine World in Vallejo, and end of Summer raffle and banquet.

Math Enrichment Summer Program is fully accredited by the Schools Commission of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Math Enrichment tuition and any after school care fees are eligible for flexible spending plans (FSA).

Math Enrichment Summer Program is being held at Leland High School from June 14 to July 23, 2010. Class is Monday through Friday from 9am-3pm. Care is available before school starting at 7:45am and after school until 6pm. Tuition is $900 (less than $5 an hour). Register by Friday, April 16, 2010 and receive a $50 early registration discount.

College Planning Seminar in Almaden Valley – UPDATED 2022

Campus PathwayHigh school parents and high school juniors and seniors are invited to a free college planning seminar titled, “How to Choose the Best College for Your Student and Your Pocketbook.” You will learn how many families have found ways for their children to attend the best colleges without wiping out their wealth. The speaker is Jeffrey Morrison, Principal of Campus Pathway, a college consultancy focused on helping families find, select, and afford the best college education possible for their children. e-WastePioneer High School Education Foundation Annual e-Waste Collection. Discard your old computers, TVs, monitors, printers, cell phones, and other electronics. Proceeds benefit Pioneer High School’s academic and technology programs.
