17th Annual Mustang Stampede Golf Tournament – UPDATED 2022

The Pioneer High School Athletic Booster Club is holding the 17th Annual Mustang Stampede Golf Tournament. The event includes golf, lunch, dinner, and on-course refreshments. The tournament format is a four-person scramble with a shotgun start.

The event also features tee and raffle prices, long drive, closest to the pin, low team gross, hole in one prizes on all par 3s, and long-drive champion Brian Pavlet. The fee is $150 per person. ($30 for dinner only guests.)

Living with Wildlife Hike in Almaden Quicksilver County Park – July 10, 2010 – UPDATED 2022

Join the New Almaden Quicksilver County Park Association for its Living With Wildlife Hike in the Almaden Quicksilver County Park. You will learn about Almaden’s mountain lion, bobcat, and coyote neighbors, and how they depend on the park and humans to survive.

This is a 2.6-mile moderate/strenuous hike (small children not advised due to some steep trail sections). Wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring water and sun protection.

Meet at the Almaden Quicksilver County Park Hacienda Parking Lot Entrance, which is located at the south end of New Almaden. The Living with Wildlife Hike is being held Saturday, July 10, 2010 from 10am to 12pm.

History Hike in Almaden Quicksilver County Park – May 22 and July 10, 2010 – UPDATED 2022

The Almaden Quicksilver Mining Museum and New Almaden Quicksilver County Park Association is holding a History Hike in the Almaden Quicksilver County Park.

The hike will be informative and entertaining, and a great way to get outdoors for some exercise and to enjoy the beauty of the New Almaden Quicksilver County Park.

On this hike you will step back in time and learn what it was like to be a quicksilver (i.e., mercury) miner in New Almaden in the mining heyday of the mid nineteenth century. You will ride by van up into the park and then go on a 5-mile hike to various historic sites and stop to have lunch in the park.

Bring a brown-bag lunch, water, sturdy hiking shoes, and sun protection. The tour is $7 per person. Reservations are required. For more information call the Almaden Quicksilver Mining Museum at 408-323-1107.

2010 Summer School & Camps at Holy Spirit School in Almaden Valley – UPDATED 2022

Customize your child’s summer school program. Choose from language arts, mathematics, science, computers, art, geography, current events, and more. Select morning, afternoon, or combine the two for a unique all day experience. The four-week programs and camps are $330 for members of Holy Spirit Church, and $380 for non-members.

The program is at Holy Spirit School from June 21 to July 16, 2010. Morning options are from 9:00 to 11:30am, and afternoon options from 12:00 to 2:00pm. Antiques Seminar in Almaden Valley: Getting in Over Your Head and Loving It – UPDATED 2022

This seminar is an informal study of the fascinating world of antiques and collectibles. Steven will be discussing topics as varied as gentlemen’s antiques, toys, prints and paintings, springtime holiday artifacts, and select European ceramics. The class will also be going on a special field trip destination. Come willing to learn and share your own expertise! The seminar is sponsored by the San Jose Department of Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Services.

The seminar is at the Almaden Community Center, Room 2. Class is held weekly for six weeks on Wednesdays from 10am-12pm. The seminar begins April 14, 2010. Hike in Almaden Quicksilver County Park – UPDATED 2022

AllTrailsThe San Jose Hiking Meetup Group is hiking 8.5 miles of trails in Almaden Quicksilver County Park. The hike will last approximately four hours, and has a difficulty rating of moderate/strenuous.
