Register for the Almaden Valley Youth Soccer 2010 Fall Recreational Soccer Program – UPDATED 2022

Almaden Valley Soccer Player Matthew GoldsteinRegistration for the Almaden Valley Youth Soccer 2010 Fall Recreational (U6-U16) and Kicker’s Club (U5) programs is now open. [EVENT IS CLOSED]

You can register online through June 6, 2010. The price to register is $175 for U6-U16 players, and $120 for U5 players (2010-2011 Player Age Matrix). No paperwork is required at the time of registration. A $25 fee will be charged for late registrations after June 6, 2010.

Registration officially closes on June 20, 2010. Online registration will remain open after June 20, 2010, but your child will automatically be placed on a waiting list.

Buddy requests, if you have any, are final once your online registration has been submitted. Be sure to confirm your buddy requests prior to completing the registration process. (It is your responsibility to make sure you understand all buddy request policies and requirements.)

Junior Tennis Classes and Summer Camp at Almaden Country Club – UPDATED 2022

Sign your child up for Junior Tennis Classes or Junior Tennis Summer Camp. These programs are directed by USPTA / USPTR Tennis Pros, Nancy Ghantous and Coach Reggie. The programs emphasize tennis fundamentals and skills in a fun and positive learning environment.

Tennis classes and Summer camp are available for ten weeks, from June 7, 2010 through August 13, 2010. You can sign up for one week or as many weeks as you wish.

Emphasis on stroke refinement, singles and doubles strategy, and tactics in match play situation.

Aces
Ages 12 and up
Friday only, 5:00-6:30pm
Singles and doubles strategy and tactics, match play, and overall development as a tournament player. For advanced players.

GameBreaker Lacrosse Camp at Leland High School in Almaden Valley – UPDATED 2022

[photo: lacrosse teens] GameBreaker Lacrosse Camps is holding a Lacrosse Summer Camp in Almaden Valley. The GameBreaker Lacrosse Camps are considered the finest in the country because of the coaching staff, which consists of the best coaches and players in the world today.

The lacrosse camp in Almaden Valley will be directed by Drew Virk, a former MLL San Francisco Dragon, NLL San Jose Stealth, and current Stanford University Head Coach.

The camp also feature ten skills clinics to develop all facets of each player’s game. Players will improve their stick, shooting, and defensive skills, as well as develop a greater understanding of team play – all in a fun and positive atmosphere.

To maximize improvement all campers are grouped by age and ability after individual evaluations. The camp is for athletes ages 8-18, from beginner skill level to top high school players.

The camp is at Leland High School in Almaden Valley, July 19-22, 2010, 9am-3pm daily. The camp price is $345 per player. You can register online. [EVENT IS CLOSED]

2010 Almaden Times Classic: 10K Run, 2-Mile Run, or 2-Mile Walk – UPDATED 2022

Run or walk in the 18th Annual / 2010 Almaden Times Classic. Events include 10K and 2-mile timed runs, and a 2-mile walk. Proceeds benefit Almaden Valley Counseling Service. The race will take you on a beautiful paved creek trail and through some residential streets in Almaden Valley.

Awards will be given to the top three winners in each age division. Overall male and female winners in the 10K and 2-mile timed runs will also receive a gift certificate. All children will receive a ribbon. Age divisions include: 6 and under, 7-9, 10-13, 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.

Your entry fee includes a t-shirt, goodie bag, food, and beverages. Random prizes will also be handed out to participants based on race number (must be present to win). Pick up your bib number and t-shirt on race day.

The start and finish lines are at the parking lot of Leland High School in Almaden Valley. The event is Sunday, September 26, 2010 at 9am. Check-in is at 8am.

If you register online by September 22, 2010, the entry fee is $25 per adult/teen, $13 per child (12 and under), and $60 per family of four (including parents and children). If you register on race day, the fees go up to $30 per adult/teen, $15 per child, and $70 per family. Race day registration begins at 7:30am. [EVENT IS CLOSED]

Swim Lessons at Almaden Cabana Club – Spring 2010 – UPDATED 2022

Spring Swim Lessons are back at the Almaden Cabana Club! The club offers small group lessons for children ranging from beginners learning to blow bubbles and put their faces in the water to competitive swimmers looking to refine their swimming strokes, diving, and flip turns.

Lessons are open to members and non-members. There are four lessons on Saturdays, from April 24 through May 15, 2010. Each lesson is 30 minutes. You can choose from the following times: 10am, 10:30am, 11am, and 11:30am. The price is only $35 for members and $45 for non-members.

All you need to do is complete the swim lesson sign-up form and drop it off along with your payment in the mailbox on the front gate of the Almaden Cabana Club. We look forward to seeing you at the pool! [EVENT IS CLOSED]

17th Annual Mustang Stampede Golf Tournament – UPDATED 2022

The Pioneer High School Athletic Booster Club is holding the 17th Annual Mustang Stampede Golf Tournament. The event includes golf, lunch, dinner, and on-course refreshments. The tournament format is a four-person scramble with a shotgun start.

The event also features tee and raffle prices, long drive, closest to the pin, low team gross, hole in one prizes on all par 3s, and long-drive champion Brian Pavlet. The fee is $150 per person. ($30 for dinner only guests.)

Boys and Girls Lacrosse Summer Camps in Almaden Valley – UPDATED 2022

Skyhawks SportsDoes your child love lacrosse? Would they like to work on their skills and bring their game to the next level? If so, Skyhawks Sports is holding boys and girls lacrosse Summer camps in Almaden Valley.

The camp is geared towards kids ages 7 to 12 years old. Each camp includes skill drills, games, and scrimmages. Athletes will learn the fundamentals of stick handling, cradling, passing, and shooting – all in a fun, non-checking environment. Athletes will come away with a deep understanding of the game and its traditions.

LacrosseIn addition to providing health and fitness benefits, participating in Summer lacrosse camp builds self-esteem, respect for others, and teamwork skills. The participant-to-coach ratio is approx 12:1.

2010 Citywide Youth Track Meet in Almaden Valley – UPDATED 2022

The 2010 Citywide Youth Track Meet is being held in Almaden Valley. The meet is free for all participants, and is being sponsored by the City of San Jose and the San Jose Police Amateur Athletic Foundation.

The meet is for boys and girls ages 9 to 14, and includes various running races (50, 100, 200, 400, 800, and 1600 meter and 4 x 100 meter relay), standing long jump, and softball throw.

The meet is at Leland High School on Saturday, May 8, 2010. Registration is from 8am to 9am, and the events from 9am to 3pm.

The top three winners in each event, with the exception of relay teams, will participate in the Hershey’s Nor-Cal State Track Meet, which will be held at Oak Grove High School on Saturday, June 19, 2010.

Pioneer High School Baseball 2010 Alumni Game & 50th Anniversary Celebration – UPDATED 2022

Pioneer High School MustangsPioneer High School baseball program will be holding its 2010 alumni baseball game and celebrating its 50th anniversary. This memorable event includes hit-a-thon fundraiser, BBQ, home run derby, and an alumni vs. alumni baseball game. All Pioneer baseball alums are encouraged to come out and enjoy a great day with former teammates and relive the good old days on the diamond.

The event is at Pioneer High School on Saturday, April 3, 2010. The hit-a-thon fundraiser is 9:00am to 11:30am, BBQ and home run derby 11:30am to 1:00pm, and alumni game 1:00pm to last out. [EVENT IS CLOSED]
