Spring 2020 Soccer and Baseball Registrations

Spring 2020 soccer and baseballHappy New Year and welcome back to the Almaden Valley Real Estate blog, Access Almaden. With schools reopening and children back in classes, this is also the time to plan for the spring season of sporting activities. Right now, registrations are open for Spring 2020 soccer and baseball with Almaden FC and Almaden Little League Baseball teams.

Almaden FC (Soccer)

AFC is affiliated with US Club Soccer and NorCal Premier’s National Premier League (NPL) to establish a platform for competitive and developmental paths for players in the club. AFC provides players progressive training in 3v3, 4v4, 5v5, 7v7, 9v9 and finally 11v11 groups. Almaden FC has registrations open for Almaden FC Tryouts, Competitive Soccer, Recreational Soccer and Camps and Clinics. The Spring Recreational Soccer program is for players born between 2002 and 2015, and will begin on March 9 and end on May 16. The Kicker’s Club program is for kids aged 4-5, goes from March 14 to May 16, and will be held at Pioneer High School. Almaden Little League Baseball

Almaden Little League is part of the Little League International (District 12, which is part of Section 5 in the Western Region). Almaden Little League practices at Simonds Elementary, Los Alamitos Elementary, Graystone Elementary and Challenger School. Players residing in or attending school within the 95120, 95141 and 95042 zip code areas are eligible to enroll. Registrations are now open for the 2020 spring season. Almaden Soccer’s 1st Annual 5K/10K “Kick-off” Run

Running shoesIs one of your New Year’s resolutions to participate in more fitness activities? If so, here’s an opportunity to start off 2015 with a “bang!” Almaden Valley Youth Soccer League and Almaden FC is holding their first annual “Kick Off” run on January 1st at Leland High School. This fun event is open to runners and walkers of all ages; everyone is welcome. For the competitive set, medals will be awarded to the top finishers, and all participants who finish their race will receive a pin. Register for Almaden Valley Youth Soccer League’s 2013 Fall Recreational Soccer

logo: Almaden Valley Youth Soccer LeagueRegistration for Almaden Valley Youth Soccer League’s 2013 Fall Recreational Program for U6-U14 (age group matrix) is open from May 6 until July 1, 2013.

Practices start the week of August 19, 2013. The first game of the season is August 24, 2013, and the last game is late October / early November 2013.

Registration for Fall Recreation is $199 per player. After June 14, 2013 an additional $25 late registration fee will be charged.

Register for Almaden Valley Youth Soccer League’s Fall Recreational Program – UPDATED 2022

Registration for Almaden Valley Youth Soccer League’s 2011 Fall Recreational Program is open May 1, 2011 through July 15, 2011. Register by June 5, 2011 to lock in the early bird rate!

AVYSL is offering the following three Fall Recreational Programs based on the player’s age:

U5 Kicker’s Club: For players born between August 1, 2006 and July 31, 2007. Players will be assigned to a team and will meet on Saturdays or Sundays. These weekend sessions will begin with clinics run by professional trainers utilizing fun activities and games to teach skills to the children. The sessions will end with 3v3 scrimmages between teams. There are no weekday practices or games.

U6 – U12 Fall Recreation: For players born between August 1, 1999 and July 31, 2006. Multiple teams will be formed in each age group. U6, U7, and U8 teams will practice once a week. U10 and U12 teams will practice twice a week. Games will be played between teams on Saturdays and on Sundays. Practices and games are held at local schools and parks.

U14 and U16 Fall Recreation Play Through: For players born between August 1, 1995 and July 31, 1999. A small number of teams will be formed in these age groups. These teams will play against each other and against teams from other leagues in the South Bay. Teams will practice twice a week at a local Almaden location. Some games will be played at other league locations. The number of teams formed will be based on the number of players who register and the number of coaches who volunteer.

The price to register is $130 for U5 players, and $185 for U6-U16 players. No paperwork is required at the time of registration. A $25 fee will be charged for late registrations after June 5, 2011.

Practices start mid August, 2011. The first game of the season is August 27, 2011, and the last game is late October, 2011 / early November, 2011.

Almaden Valley Youth Soccer League’s Spring 2011 Soccer Camp – UPDATED 2022

logo: Almaden Valley Youth Soccer LeagueAlmaden Valley Youth Soccer League and UK International Soccer are holding Spring Soccer Camps for players born between 8/1/1996 and 7/31/2005.

All camp sessions are based on individual attention to ball skills, as well as fun games to put those skills into practice and develop teamwork. The camp helps to develop confidence and individual creativity on the field, in a fun and positive learning environment for players.

You can sign up for half-day or full-day camp. The half-day option is from 9am-12pm, and costs $130 per player. The full-day camp is from 9am-3:30pm, and costs $200 per player.

Spring Soccer Camp is April 11 through April 15, 2011. The camp will be held in Almaden Valley at a location to be announced.

Almaden Valley Youth Soccer League Partners with Extreme Fitness & Sports – UPDATED 2022

logo: Almaden Valley Youth Soccer LeagueAlmaden Valley Youth Soccer League (AVYSL) has partnered with Extreme Fitness & Sports (EFS).

Under this new partnership, EFS has graciously agreed to provide AVYSL with a combination of training services, programs, and cash donations.

During Spring and Summer, EFS will be providing Speed, Agility & Quickness (SAQ) training sessions for AVYSL players in the league’s new Almaden Futbol Club. Players on AVYSL Comp and Select teams will get access to a mobile version of the EFS Training System.

EFS will also be donating 10% of every dollar back to the league for each AVYSL player who signs up for an EFS program at its training center. Funds donated by EFS will be used to help maintain fields and purchase more equipment for the league.

Players who take a program at the EFS facility receive more individualized and focused training, performance testing and re-testing, and use of state-of-the-art sports training machines and equipment.

EFS was founded in 1996 by Chris Morton, Strength & Conditioning Expert. Chris grew up in Almaden Valley where he graduated from Castillero Middle School in 1986 and Leland High School in 1990. Chris’ son now plays in the Almaden Valley Youth Soccer League.

Tryouts for the 2011 Almaden Valley Youth Soccer League Season – UPDATED 2022

logo: Almaden Valley Youth Soccer LeagueAlmaden Valley Youth Soccer League (AVYSL) will be hosting tryouts for its Competitive Soccer Program in December 2010 and January 2011.

The Competitive Program is for boys and girls in age groups U8 – U14 who want to be trained by professional coaches and play soccer at a higher, more competitive level.

Almaden Valley Youth Soccer League Project 40 Program – Register for Fall 2010 – UPDATED 2022

Logo: Alamden Valley Youth Soccer LeagueAlmaden Valley Youth Soccer League (AVYSL) has brought back Project 40 Program. The program is designed to give AVYSL players the opportunity to further develop their soccer skills and understanding of the game.

The program has been developed and will be run by the UK International Training Staff. Players are grouped by age, and receive age-appropriate training followed by a scrimmage.

Volunteer coaches and parents of participating players are encouraged to assist the UK trainers during the sessions. Volunteers will be instructed by the UK staff so they can help train the players and bring what they learn back to team practices.

Project 40 Program is held at Simonds Elementary School on Sundays, September 12, 2010 – October 17, 2010. U7 – U9 players (born between August 1, 2001 and July 31, 2004) play from 3:30pm – 4:45pm (5pm – 6:15pm on September 12, 2010 to work around the photograph schedule). U10 – U12 players (born between August 1, 1998 and July 31, 2001) play from 5pm – 6:45pm. The Project 40 Program is $40 per player. You can register online. [EVENT IS CLOSED]
