A fun and competitive indoor full-court basketball program accommodating youths from 1st grade to high school. Targeted for players with no experience to players who have played many years.

Format:

Almaden Youth Basketball will form teams for all individual players that register, recruit volunteer coaches, provide indoor practice gym space and organize games for each team.

National Night Out Block Party

This fun-filled evening is all about bringing the community together with exciting activities for all ages. Enjoy classic lawn games, creative chalk art, and organized activities, and bring a blanket and lawn chairs for a family-friendly outdoor movie at sunset to wrap up the night. Concession food will be sold cash only. It’s a perfect opportunity to connect, relax, and enjoy a summer night with your community!

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.

Almaden Little League Fall 2025

Almaden Little League Fall 2025It’s time to register for Almaden Little League Fall 2025 baseball and softball!

Registration

Almaden Little League offers 2 seasons to register for. The Spring season runs from February through May, and registration opens in November and runs through December. The Fall season runs from September to early November and registration opens in July.

Mothers and Flowers – A Pre-Mother’s Day Hike

Celebrate Mother’s Day 2025 early with a moderate 2.5-mile hike on the Stile Ranch, Mine, and Fortini trails. You’ll hear stories about mothers who were important to the area’s history and see colorful late-spring wildflowers.

Meet at the Fortini Trailhead on San Vicente Avenue off Fortini Road with sturdy shoes, snacks, and water. Leashed dogs, children, and families are welcome.

Almaden Community Center Activity Guide Summer 2025

Almaden Community Center Activity Guide Summer 2025The Almaden Community Center Activity Guide Summer 2025 is now available, offering classes in Arts & Crafts, Dance, Sports, Education, and Fitness, for preschoolers through Active Adults 50+. There are also dozens of summer camps for kids of all ages, such as Basketball Camp, Cheerleading Camp, Colorful Critters Pastel Camp, Minecraft with LEGO® Camp, and Frozen and Friends Dance Camp!

Summer 2025 season registration will open Saturday, May 3 at 10am. Early registration for scholarship eligible participants will be in person on Wednesday April 23 at 10am. Registration for Active Adult members will begin online and in person on Wednesday, April 30 at 10am. Summer camp registration is already open.

In addition to classes, camps, and programs, the Almaden Community Center has a Fitness Center, Teaching Kitchen, Preschool Programs, Dance Studio, Gym, Computer Lab and Teen Center/Game Room.

March 2025 Quicksilver History Hike

March 2025 Quicksilver History HikeRegistration is now open for the March 2025 Quicksilver History Hike on Saturday, March 22 from 9am – 12pm. Join a Park Interpreter on a 3-4 mile hike in Almaden Quicksilver County Park to discover how our changing values have impacted the landscape, and a once bustling mining enterprise became a park. Meet at the Wood Rd Entrance on Hicks Rd.

This hike will cover history content that is geared towards an adult audience. Best for ages 10+. Reservations are not required but they are strongly recommended as parking is limited at the trailhead. Although dogs are allowed within the park, for the comfort and safety of the group, they are discouraged from accompanying you on the hike (with the exception of service animals).

History hikes are offered monthly, usually on the 4th Saturday or Sunday of the month. Registration for the hike opens on the 1st of the month.

In the event of rain, the hike will be canceled.

Register now for Spring 2025 classes geared to all ages – from early childhood dance to older adults pickleball – a wide variety of activities and sports for everyone at all levels.

You can also register for Camp San Jose spring break camp as well as a broad assortment of week-long full- and half-day summer camps taking place at the Almaden Community Center or at neighboring parks. Camp instructors are from Brick Tech, Clap Arts, Dance Arts Academy, Futsal Kingz, Gurus Education, Little Medical School, Mad Science of the Bay Area, Play-Well TEKnologies, Skyhawks, Snapology, Young Rembrandts, and more.

BASEBALL:

Spring Season
Our rec season is our most popular season and runs from March through late May (registration roughly Nov 10 to Jan 10). We offer as many divisions as demand allows. Historically that means we offer t-ball, coach pitch, machine pitch (A), kid pitch (AA), AAA, Majors, Juniors, and Seniors divisions. These teams play against each other and possibly other teams from other leagues in the same division. At the end of the regular season, teams in AA and above play a tournament to determine an Almaden Little League champion. The AAA and Majors championship teams will play in a tournament against the champions (of the same division) from other nearby leagues (i.e., Tournament of Champions).

SOFTBALL:

Spring Season
Our rec season is our most popular season and runs from March through late May. We offer as many divisions demand allows. Historically that means we offer 6u, 8u, 10u, 12u and 14u teams. These teams play against each other and other teams from other leagues in the same division.
