The Almaden Senior Association is an all-volunteer organization of Active Adults (50+) which initiates, supports and promotes programs and activities for the active adult population at the City-operated Almaden Community Center. The Association works in collaboration with City staff responsible for operating the Center. The Association meets monthly on the first Wednesday of each month. Almaden Community Center Winter 2026The Almaden Community Center Winter 2026 Activity Guide is now available! See what classes are being offered in Arts & Crafts, Dance, Sports, and more. There are so many great options for preschoolers through Active Adults 50+. Most activities start in January 2026, but the guide also has information about 2025 holiday events such as Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, as well as Winter Camps running from 2/18 – 2/20, 2026.

Diwali Celebration 2025

Diwali celebration 2025On Sunday, October 26, 2025, the Indian Community Members of the Almaden Senior Association will host a Diwali Celebration from 12pm to 3pm at the Almaden Community Center.

Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is one of India’s most important and colorful celebrations. Festivities will feature beautiful decorations, a flavorful multi-course Indian dinner, high-energy Indian dances and a drawing for door prizes.

Senior Walk 2025 at Almaden Lake Park

Come join the South San Jose Senior Walk 2025 at Almaden Lake Park! It’s spooky season, so walk in your best Halloween costume to win prizes!

Where: Almaden Lake Park, Arroyo Picnic Area

This event promotes long, healthy, active lifestyles with a walking course, a contest for prizes, and a resource fair! Free and open to all, no RSVP required. Limited water and snacks provided. Free parking in Winfield lot.

Almaden Community Center Activity Guide Summer 2025

Almaden Community Center Activity Guide Summer 2025The Almaden Community Center Activity Guide Summer 2025 is now available, offering classes in Arts & Crafts, Dance, Sports, Education, and Fitness, for preschoolers through Active Adults 50+. There are also dozens of summer camps for kids of all ages, such as Basketball Camp, Cheerleading Camp, Colorful Critters Pastel Camp, Minecraft with LEGO® Camp, and Frozen and Friends Dance Camp!

Summer 2025 season registration will open Saturday, May 3 at 10am. Early registration for scholarship eligible participants will be in person on Wednesday April 23 at 10am. Registration for Active Adult members will begin online and in person on Wednesday, April 30 at 10am. Summer camp registration is already open.

In addition to classes, camps, and programs, the Almaden Community Center has a Fitness Center, Teaching Kitchen, Preschool Programs, Dance Studio, Gym, Computer Lab and Teen Center/Game Room.

Almaden Community Center Spring 2025 Activity GuideThe Almaden Community Center 2025 Spring Activity Guide is now available! Register now for Spring 2025 classes geared to all ages – from early childhood dance to older adults pickleball – a wide variety of activities and sports for everyone at all levels.

You can also register for Camp San Jose spring break camp as well as a broad assortment of week-long full- and half-day summer camps taking place at the Almaden Community Center or at neighboring parks. Camp instructors are from Brick Tech, Clap Arts, Dance Arts Academy, Futsal Kingz, Gurus Education, Little Medical School, Mad Science of the Bay Area, Play-Well TEKnologies, Skyhawks, Snapology, Young Rembrandts, and more.

Valentine’s Silent Disco Dance at the Almaden Community Center

Almaden Community Center Valentine's Silent Disco DanceRegister now for the Valentine’s Silent Disco Dance for older adults 50+ at the Almaden Community Center!

A silent disco is an event where participants dance while tuning into music through wireless headphones. Instead of traditional speakers, music is broadcasted via a radio transmitter, allowing dancers to choose from different music channels.
