Throughout Santa Clara Valley non-native plant species are forcing out our native plants, in some cases drastically altering local ecosystems. Volunteers help us restore local habitat by removing these invasive species.
Almaden Valley neighbors, leash up your dogs and join the Healthy “Tails” dog hike at Quicksilver Park on Saturday, November 5 from 9am to 11am. A guide from California K9 Solutions will be teaching participants how to enjoy outdoor activities as they and their dogs hike the 2.5 mile Wood Road Trail. Join a Park Docent on a moderately challenging 4.5-mile hike along the Wood Road, Castillero, and Mine Hill Trails.
View remnants of the expansive mercury mining operation as you explore nature and history. Wear sturdy hiking shoes and sunscreen. Bring water, snacks and a camera.

Step back in time and experience what life was like back in the mining heyday. Ride by van up into the park, hike approximately 5 miles to various historic sites, and enjoy a brown-bag lunch in the park. Bring water, lunch, sturdy hiking shoes, and sun protection.

Troy’s California Trail Runs is holding its 2011 Annual Almaden Hills Run in the beautiful hills of Almaden Quicksilver Park.
There are five runs to choose from. These runs feature 60% dirt roads, 40% single track, great views, awesome country, challenging hills, and lots of fun.
Take a moderate 5.5-mile evening mountain bike ride with a Park Ranger in Almaden Quicksilver County Park.
Start from the Wood Road staging area and go to the rotary furnace, up Bull Run, down through English Camp, and back out to Wood Road.
Pioneer Day offers fun for the whole family. Learn how the Pioneers lived back in the quicksilver mining heyday of the mid nineteenth century.
Festivities include entertainment, history, activities, children’s games, food, and speeches. This year’s Pioneer Day will also celebrate the opening of the new Outdoor Museum at New Almaden Quicksilver Mining Museum.
Quicksilver Running Club is holding its 2011 Quicksilver Trail Half Marathon and 10K.
The races are on scenic, hilly dirt trails in the historic mining territory of Almaden Quicksilver County Park.
