Reading to Furry Friends at Almaden Library

Reading to Furry Friends The San Jose Public Library’s Almaden Branch is hosting Reading to Furry Friends on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Children’s Area at 6445 Camden Ave., San Jose. Children ages 5 to 10 are invited to practice reading aloud to gentle, trained assistance dogs – and the dogs love every word of it!

Healthy Tails Dog Hike

Almaden Valley neighbors, leash up your dogs and join the Healthy “Tails” dog hike at Quicksilver Park on Saturday, November 5 from 9am to 11am. A guide from California K9 Solutions will be teaching participants how to enjoy outdoor activities as they and their dogs hike the 2.5 mile Wood Road Trail. Dogs must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet long, and registration is required. Call (408) 355-2240 or register online at Santa Clara County Parks.
