The San Jose Super Run 5K kicks off at Almaden Lake Park on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 8:00 am.

The Super Run is a series of superhero themed national running events. It partners with non-profit organizations to raise funds and create awareness for their causes.

Registration opens at 8:30am. Country line dancing warm-ups begin at 9am and the race starts at 9:30am. GIST (Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors) is a form of cancer that has no cure and affects thousands of Americans every year. The Walk for a Cure was started by a GIST patient in New York 12 years ago. On Sunday, October 21st from 10:30am to 2pm, residents of San Jose will have the opportunity to raise money for research, generate awareness and provide support for GIST patients and their caregivers.
