Wildflower Walk at Almaden Quicksilver

Wildflower Walk at Almaden QuicksilverThe Wildflower Walk at Almaden Quicksilver County Park is a special springtime event that highlights the joy of living in the Almaden Valley. Join a knowledgeable Park Interpreter on a gentle 1-mile guided hike through the park’s trails to discover the incredible variety of native wildflowers that bloom at Quicksilver Park — and learn why they matter so much to the local ecosystem.

This family-friendly outing is suitable for ages 7 and up, making it a perfect Saturday morning activity for households of all kinds. The hike is scheduled for Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, starting at the Mockingbird Hill entrance (19535 Mockingbird Hill Lane, San José, CA 95120). No vehicle entrance fee is required.

Can’t make it to the guided walk? You can still experience the Wildflower Walk at Almaden Quicksilver at your own pace. Stop by the Almaden Quicksilver Mining Museum to pick up a paper wildflower brochure, or explore the park’s digital wildflower tour online anytime.

March 2025 Quicksilver History Hike

March 2025 Quicksilver History HikeRegistration is now open for the March 2025 Quicksilver History Hike on Saturday, March 22 from 9am – 12pm. Join a Park Interpreter on a 3-4 mile hike in Almaden Quicksilver County Park to discover how our changing values have impacted the landscape, and a once bustling mining enterprise became a park. Meet at the Wood Rd Entrance on Hicks Rd.

This hike will cover history content that is geared towards an adult audience. Best for ages 10+. Reservations are not required but they are strongly recommended as parking is limited at the trailhead. Although dogs are allowed within the park, for the comfort and safety of the group, they are discouraged from accompanying you on the hike (with the exception of service animals).

History hikes are offered monthly, usually on the 4th Saturday or Sunday of the month. Registration for the hike opens on the 1st of the month.

In the event of rain, the hike will be canceled.

Lunar New Year at Casa Grande

Lunar New Year at Casa GrandeCelebrate the Year of the Snake at Casa Grande and learn about the historic influences China had on New Almaden’s quicksilver mines by doing crafts, viewing demonstrations, & listening to historians. While enjoying festivities you’ll also discover the significance of New Almaden’s mercury mining to the California Gold Rush.
