The Almaden Branch Public Library will present a puppet production of Aladdin on December 29, 2012 at 2:30pm. The Fratello Marionettes will tell this magical tale from “The 1001 Arabian Nights” as it has never been seen before.

Witness Aladdin’s adventures as he discovers a magical lamp with a genie inside, defeats an evil sorcerer and wins the heart of a princess.

Alice in Wonderland Production in Almaden ValleyAlice steps through her mirror to the magical place called Wonderland. In this land she finds all sorts of nonsense: A silly caterpillar, crying flowers, the Mad Hatter trio, the Queen and Company. Will Alice get to become a queen? Will she lose her head at the trial?

Have fun in this fantastic Children’s Play House of San Jose production. Children in kindergarten (5 years old) to 6th grade are invited to audition for the 1-Act Workshop’s production of Alice in Wonderland.

Breakfast with Santa Clause at Almaden Community CenterThe staff of the City of San Jose Parks and Recreation Department invite the residents of Almaden to bring their little ones to a breakfast with Santa Clause on December 8, 2012 from 9:30am to noon.

The event will begin with a breakfast, a seasonal arts and crafts project and photos with Santa (available for purchase with a frame). The festivities will wrap up with a special gift from Santa.

Indoor Soccer, Skillz, and Scrimmages in Almaden Valley

Indoor Soccer, Skillz, and Scrimmages in Almaden ValleySix spots remain in the Soccer, Skillz and Scrimmages indoor youth soccer league presented by the City of San Jose Parks and Recreation Department. Classes will take place from November 28 2012 to January 9 2013 on Wednesday evenings from 4:35 to 5:20pm. (There will be no class on December 26th.)

The teams are co-ed. Children must be at least seven years old, but no older than 10 to participate. Shin guards are required and participants are asked to wear tennis or indoor shoes without black soles.

New Preschool Art Classes at Cindy Art Studio – UPDATED 2022

Cindy Art StudioCindy Art Studio is now be offering weekly art classes for preschoolers. Children ages 3 to 5 explore a variety of different techniques and mediums, including drawing, watercolor painting, 3-D sculpture, card-making and clay-working.

Students learn basic art elements and composition and how to follow directions. They are also encouraged to develop observational and problem-solving skills, self-expression and creative thinking, motor skills, concentration and coordination.
