Almaden Community Center Winter 2025The Almaden Community Center Winter 2025 Activity Guide is now available! See what classes are being offered in Arts & Crafts, Dance, Sports, and more. There are so many great options for preschoolers through Active Adults 50+. Most activities start in January 2025, but the guide also has information about 2024 holiday events including family favorites Breakfast with Santa and the North Pole Party.

Make the holidays extra special with a fun-filled time that includes food, singing, art activities, and even a special gift from the North Pole!

Time: 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Ages: 3-5 yrs.

Cache Creek Casino

Take a bus ride to Cache Creek Casino for a day of gaming and food!

Date: Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024
Depart: 8am from Almaden Community Center – Travel time: 2 hrs
Return: Around 6:30pm
Cost: $50 cash or check. You get $20 in free play.

A September to Remember

Enjoy music of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s by musicians Sandi and Mike Bell. Wear clothes from those eras if you wish, and bring a photo of yourself from back then for display. Lunch includes spaghetti, lasagna, chicken, and antipasto. Peach Bellini’s and dessert included.

Cost: Members $22, Non-Members $25, cash or check.

Almaden Community Center 2024 Fall Activity Guide

Almaden Community Center 2024 Fall Activity GuideThe Almaden Community Center 2024 Fall Activity Guide is now available! See what classes are being offered in Arts & Crafts, Dance, Education & Enrichment, and Sports. There are so many great options to pick from, for preschoolers through Active Adults 50+. Most activities start in September, so register now!

In addition to fall classes, the Almaden Community Center 2024 Fall Activity Guide has registration information for 2024-2025 school year programs including San Jose Recreation Preschool and R.O.C.K. Afterschool. You can also register for Fall, Thanksgiving, and January Break Camps, as well as for Citywide Fitness programs for ages 14-55+, which include drop-in volleyball, basketball, and table tennis. The guide also includes information about the Harvest Festival, Halloween Party, North Pole Party, and Breakfast with Santa!

Almaden Senior Association Beach Party Picnic

Almaden Senior Association Beach Party PicnicGet your tickets now for the Almaden Senior Association Beach Party Picnic at the Almaden Community Center! The party is on Saturday, July 13th, 2024, from 12-3pm.

Here’s what’s in store:

  • Buffet of spiral wrap sandwiches, mini corn dogs, hot wings, salad, fruit, and cheese plates.
  • Dessert and Island punch.
  • Fun and games such as Connect 4, Cornhole and Jenga.
  • Popcorn as you enter the party.
  • A photo booth to save your memories of the day.
  • Musical entertainment by Pan Extasy steel drum band.

Wear beach attire: bright shirts, shorts, sandals, caftans, sun hats (no bikinis or speedos, please).

Tickets for the Almaden Senior Association Beach Party Picnic are on sale from 8-10am in the lobby of the Almaden Community Center through July 8th or until sold out, $22 for members or $25 for non-members (cash or check only). Call Jeanne at 408-425-5723 for more information.

Almaden Senior Program Visting Steinbeck Museum & Wild Things Park

National Steinbeck MuseumAlmaden Senior Association is taking a day trip to visit the National Steinbeck Museum and Wild Things Exotic Animal Park.

The National Steinbeck Center is located in John Steinbeck’s hometown of Salinas, California. The Center offers three distinct visitor experiences in literature and history, agriculture and art, as well special events and educational programs.

Wild Things takes great pride in offering sanctuary to many animals that can no longer participate in entertainment or would otherwise not have a home or family. You can see the animals on guided tours and educational programs that are fun, safe, and rewarding to all – especially the animals.

The trip is on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 8am to 5:30pm. The price is $42 per person. Lunch is not included.
