Art Classes in Almaden Valley for Children Ages 18 Months to 5 Years

Spend quality time with your young child creating art and having fun together! (This is a parent/guardian participation class.) My First Art Class is an art program for children ages 18 months to 5 years. The program offers an art environment where your child can flourish creatively.

Each week, the program offers an exciting theme using an array of art materials such as paint, clay, glitter, stickers, collage, markers, and much more. They set up an art environment with five stations.

The Fratello Marionettes Performing The Vaudeville Follies in Almaden Valley

FrogPrincess The Fratello Marionettes will perform their entertaining “Vaudeville Follies” in Almaden Valley. Experience the Artistry of Kevin Menegus and his marionettes. This variety show is in the spirit of the old time music hall, with experienced puppeteers performing in full view of the audience. The shows are filled with wonderful, high-quality marionettes that range in size from one foot to three feet tall! You’ll see singers, dancers, a clown that blows up a balloon, and even a trapeze artist.

Almaden Library to Host Performance by José Luis Orozco

Jose-Luis-Orozco José Luis Orozco, popular bilingual musician, is performing at the Almaden Library! Mr. José Luis Orozco is an award winning children’s book author and bilingual educator. He wrote De Colores, Diez Deditos and Fiestas. More recently, he wrote Rin Rin Rin Do Re Mi. CD’s accompany each of these colorful books to present a collection of latino songs, rhymes, lullabies, and holiday celebrations.

Lord of the Light Art Studio & Gallery 2013 Summer Art Camp

Lord of the Light Art Studio & Gallery in Almaden Valley is holding its 2013 Summer Art Camp for kids in 1st – 12th grade. The studio has a unique camp curriculum that is designed to bring out and develop a child’s imagination and creativity, while teaching them the fundamentals of fine art.

The Summer Art Camp is a one-week, fun-filled learning experience that includes color theory, animation, and much more! Students will learn pencil drawing skills and how to use medias such as oil pastel, soft pastel, and watercolor. Your child will experience new freedom and a new love for art.

The Fratello Marionettes Performing in Almaden Valley

The Almaden Branch Public Library will present a puppet production of Aladdin on December 29, 2012 at 2:30pm. The Fratello Marionettes will tell this magical tale from “The 1001 Arabian Nights” as it has never been seen before.

Witness Aladdin’s adventures as he discovers a magical lamp with a genie inside, defeats an evil sorcerer and wins the heart of a princess.

South Valley Family YMCA Holiday Camp and Basketball Camp

South Valley Family YMCA will be hosting two winter camps to keep kids happy and healthy throughout the holiday season.

Holiday camp will be held December 26-28, 2012 and January 2-4, 2013. Basketball camp will be held January 2-4, 2013.

Children’s Play House Presents Alice in Wonderland in Almaden Valley – UPDATED 2022

Alice in Wonderland Production in Almaden Valley Alice steps through her mirror to the magical place called Wonderland. In this land she finds all sorts of nonsense: A silly caterpillar, crying flowers, the Mad Hatter trio, the Queen and Company. Will Alice get to become a queen? Will she lose her head at the trial?

Have fun in this fantastic Children’s Play House of San Jose production. Children in kindergarten (5 years old) to 6th grade are invited to audition for the 1-Act Workshop’s production of Alice in Wonderland.

Almaden Valley North Pole Party with Santa Clause

Almaden Valley North Pole Party with Santa Clause The staff of the City of San Jose Parks and Recreation Department invite the residents of Almaden to celebrate the season with their children at the North Pole party on December 14, 2012 from 4:30 to 6:30pm.

The event will include snacks, singing, and arts & crafts activities. There will even be a visit and a gift from a very special someone who goes by the name of Santa Clause.

Because children are especially free in their artistic expression, they need that gift nourished. My First Art Class instructors believe that everyone is creative and artistic and all children need is the right environment to thrive — and that it’s the process, not the finished product, that is most important when tapping into the creative spirit.
