Planet Tree Workshop for Almaden Valley Families
Learn about urban forests and how to take care of the trees in our community. This workshop features a fun presentation for kids ages 6-12, as well as information for adults about how to get a tree for a small donation.
This workshop is presented in partnership with Our City Forest. The mission of Our City Forest is to cultivate a green and healthy San José metropolis by engaging community members in the appreciation, protection, growth and maintenance of our urban ecosystem, especially our urban forest.
The workshop is at Almaden Branch Library on Friday, March 16, 2012 from 3:30-4:30pm.

See the animals of Happy Hollow Park & Zoo in one hour – right here in Almaden Valley. See reptiles, mammals, birds, arachnids, and insects. Learn about their habitats and way of living. Happy Hollow takes great pride and fun in educating adults and children. A perfect event for families. Happy Hollow Park & Zoo will be at the Almaden Library on February 15, 2012 from 6-7pm.
2012 Summer Art Camp at Lord of the Light Art Studio & Gallery in Almaden Valley
Lord of the Light Art Studio & Gallery in Almaden Valley is holding its 2012 Summer Art Camp for kids in 1st – 12th grade. The studio has a unique camp curriculum that is designed to bring out and develop a child’s imagination and creativity, while teaching them the fundamentals of fine art.
The Summer Art Camp is a one-week, fun-filled learning experience that includes color theory, animation, and much more! Students will learn pencil drawing skills and how to use medias such as oil pastel, soft pastel, and watercolor. Your child will experience new freedom and a new love for art.
2011 Children’s Day at History Park in San Jose
Children’s Day at History Park in San Jose included photos and trolley ride with Santa Claus, holiday arts and crafts for children, hand-operated cart on tracks, story times with the Snow Queen, and St. James AME Youth Choir. The day was enjoyed by all!
