SeniorNet Learning Center of Almaden – Winter 2011 Registration and Courses – UPDATED 2022

Choose from a number of different computer, Internet, and software application courses, including an Introduction to Google and Introduction to Facebook. Download the Winter 2011 Session Brochure.

Registration for the Winter 2011 Session is at the Almaden Community Center on Saturday, January 8, 2011, at 11:30am. Classes are also at the Almaden Community Center, and begin January 10, 2011 and end March 7, 2011. (Most of the courses are one day a week for two hours, and last from four to eight weeks.)

The price for an annual membership to SeniorNet is $40. The annual renewal fee for existing members is $30. Individual courses range from $10 to $20 each.

Memoir Writing Class in Almaden Valley – UPDATED 2022

Learn how to write your memoir. Attend a creative memoir writing class to learn useful techniques that will help you identify memories of pivotal events and moments in your life. Preserve your personal stories on paper for yourself and to share with future generations of your family. The class is for adults age 50 and older.

The Memoir Writing class is at the Almaden Community Center, AL Room 4. The class meets every Monday beginning November 15, 2010 and ending December 13, 2010, from 10:30am – 12:00pm. SeniorNet Learning Center of Almaden – Summer 2010 Registration and Courses – UPDATED 2022

SeniorNet Learning Center of Almaden ValleySeniorNet Learning Center of Almaden is offering more than a dozen different computer and software application courses this Summer.

SeniorNet is a national non-profit membership organization dedicated to building a community of computer-using seniors (ages 50 and over).

Courses range from an introduction to computers (no computer knowledge required) to intermediate and advanced courses in various software applications.

A sampling of the courses available this Summer include Windows operating systems, search engines, word processing, spreadsheets, photo editing, photo albums, and digital music.

Most of the courses are one day a week for two hours, and last from four to eight weeks. All classes are held at the Almaden Community Center.

High Tea at The Almaden Empress – UPDATED 2022

Join us for white glove, silver service High Tea at The Almaden Empress. Listen to the pleasing sounds of chamber music while enjoying a dazzling array of finger sandwiches, fresh seasonal fruit, scones with a selection of preserves, pastries, cakes, tarts, delicious teas, and much more.

You are welcome to dress for the occasion. Ladies, wear one of your hats. Gentlemen, bow ties optional. This event is for adults ages 50 and older, and is brought to you by the Almaden Senior Program.

Tickets go on sale Friday, April 2, 2010 at 10am inside the Almaden Community Center near the sports and fitness desk. $10 for members and $15 for non-members.

St. Patrick’s Day Celebration for seniors. Delicious lunch of corned beef & cabbage, potatoes, carrots, coffee and dessert. Entertainment will include lively Irish dancers and an Irish sing-along. Presented by Councilmember Nancy Pyle and the Almaden Senior Nutrition program. At the Almaden Community Center on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 12pm.

Tickets can be purchased on Friday, March 5, 2010 at 10am near the sports and fitness desk inside the Almaden Community Center. Tickets are $8 for members and $12 for non-members. Tickets are limited to two per person. [EVENT IS CLOSED]
