Summer Activity Guide for Almaden Community Center – UPDATED 2022

The Activity Guide includes all of the programs and classes planned for the Almaden Community Center in Summer 2011.

Almaden Valley residents have a variety of activities from which to choose. There’s something for everyone – from toddlers to seniors.

Choose from arts and crafts, camps, dance, early childhood recreation, education and enrichment, health and fitness, music, sports leagues and drop-ins, cooking, specialty programs, senior programs and events, and family events.

Registration for Summer 2011 activities begins on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 10am. You can register online, in-person (at Almaden Community Center), mail-in, or fax-in.

Winter 2011 Presidents Week Camps for Kids in Almaden Valley – UPDATED 2022

Children in Almaden Valley have a number of different options available to them for camps over the Winter 2011 Presidents Week school break. Camps include everything from sports, cooking, art, games, and dance. [EVENT IS CLOSED]

Almaden Athletics Winter Break Basketball Camp
This camp builds and improves a player’s skills and abilities in the areas of passing, shooting, rebounding, dribbling, play execution, and position playing. The camp is for boys and girls ages 8-13. Camp is daily Tuesday, February 22, 2011 to Friday, February 25, 2011 from 9:00am to 3:00pm. The price is $112 per player. Register online or call the Almaden Community Center at 408-268-1133.

U.S. Baseball Academy’s 2011 Baseball Camps in Almaden Valley – UPDATED 2022

logo: U.S. Baseball AcademyU.S. Baseball Academy is running camps in Almaden Valley for players in grades 1 through 12. Players have the choice to be instructed in hitting, pitching, and catching.

Leland High School’s Head Baseball Coach, Mike Sparrer, is the camp director. Instructors will include other coaches from around the San Jose area. The player-to-coach ratio is 6-to-1.

Register for the Almaden Valley Girls Softball League 2011 Season – UPDATED 2022

AVGSL offers a fun, positive environment for players to learn and expand their softball skills.

The league promotes a sense of belonging for everyone, and emphasizes teamwork and a sense of individual success.

AVGSL is affiliated with the San Jose Police Activities League (PAL) and Amateur Softball Association (ASA).

Register for the Almaden Little League 2011 Baseball Season – UPDATED 2022

logo: almaden little league baseballIt’s almost time to register for the Almaden Little League 2011 baseball season! Almaden Little League is for players ages 4 through 18 years old, in T-Ball through Big League. A player’s age is determined as of April 30, 2011. More information about the league’s division levels. You can also sign-up to be a manager, coach, umpire, or volunteer.

Registration is at the Almaden Golf and Country Club on Monday, November 22, 2010 and Tuesday, November 23, 2010, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm each night. The price is $225 per player.

Register for the Almaden Valley Youth Soccer 2010 Fall Recreational Soccer Program – UPDATED 2022

Almaden Valley Soccer Player Matthew GoldsteinRegistration for the Almaden Valley Youth Soccer 2010 Fall Recreational (U6-U16) and Kicker’s Club (U5) programs is now open. [EVENT IS CLOSED]

You can register online through June 6, 2010. The price to register is $175 for U6-U16 players, and $120 for U5 players (2010-2011 Player Age Matrix). No paperwork is required at the time of registration. A $25 fee will be charged for late registrations after June 6, 2010.

Registration officially closes on June 20, 2010. Online registration will remain open after June 20, 2010, but your child will automatically be placed on a waiting list.

Buddy requests, if you have any, are final once your online registration has been submitted. Be sure to confirm your buddy requests prior to completing the registration process. (It is your responsibility to make sure you understand all buddy request policies and requirements.)

GameBreaker Lacrosse Camp at Leland High School in Almaden Valley – UPDATED 2022

[photo: lacrosse teens] GameBreaker Lacrosse Camps is holding a Lacrosse Summer Camp in Almaden Valley. The GameBreaker Lacrosse Camps are considered the finest in the country because of the coaching staff, which consists of the best coaches and players in the world today.

The lacrosse camp in Almaden Valley will be directed by Drew Virk, a former MLL San Francisco Dragon, NLL San Jose Stealth, and current Stanford University Head Coach.

The camp also feature ten skills clinics to develop all facets of each player’s game. Players will improve their stick, shooting, and defensive skills, as well as develop a greater understanding of team play – all in a fun and positive atmosphere.

To maximize improvement all campers are grouped by age and ability after individual evaluations. The camp is for athletes ages 8-18, from beginner skill level to top high school players.

The camp is at Leland High School in Almaden Valley, July 19-22, 2010, 9am-3pm daily. The camp price is $345 per player. You can register online. [EVENT IS CLOSED]
