Almaden Community Center 2023 Summer Activity GuideThe Almaden Community Center 2023 Summer Activity Guide is now available! See what classes are being offered in Arts & Crafts, Dance, and Sports. You can also register for Camp San Jose, Camp San Jose Jr., F.I.T. Camp, and a number of other summer camps. There are offerings for all ages, from preschoolers through Active Adults 50+. Most camps start in June, so register now!

In addition to summer programs, the Almaden Community Center 2023 Summer Activity Guide has registration information for 2023-2024 school year programs including San Jose Recreation Preschool and R.O.C.K. Afterschool.

Almaden Equestrian Center 2013 Summer Horse Camp

photo: Almaden Summer Horse CampAlmaden Summer Horse Camp is for kids, ages 6-16, who like horses, crafts, and more! Almaden Summer Horse Camp is hosted at Almaden Equestrian Center in the Almaden Valley. The camp is a fantastic way for children to learn riding or develop higher level riding skills.

The camp offers lots of fun with riding and instruction on caring for some very sweet horses. Lessons include western, english, or bareback, and start at beginning and advance to higher levels. Each child is evaluated for his/her ability and placed in a group that matches the age and skill of the child.

Nintendo’s Mario Characters

Video Game Design campers will learn how to design the concept and elements of basic, two-dimensional computer / video games. The instructor will help guide the software development, with design input and guidance from the students. Students will work in small groups to collaborate on at least one finished game. The camp is for kids ages 7-11.

SonRise National Park Vacation Bible School Camp for Summer 2012

Holy Spirit Church invites your children to SonRise National Park Vacation Bible School. The campers will participate in Bible adventures, crafts, recreation, songs, and enjoy tasty snacks. The camps is for kids ages Pre-K (4 years old as of 10/1/12) through kids entering 5th grade.

Summer 2011 Horse Camp at Almaden Equestrian Center – UPDATED 2022

photo: Almaden Summer Horse CampAlmaden Summer Horse Camp is for kids, ages 6-16, who like horses, riding, and creating friendships and experiences that be will cherished forever.

Children will have fun learning to ride and improving their riding skills. Kids can learn Western, English, or Bareback. The camp is suited for beginners and advances to higher skill levels. Each child is evaluated for his/her ability and placed in a group that matches their age and skill level.

Children will also learn what it takes to properly care for our equine buddies. This season’s Summer Camp will also feature fun activities and entertainment, including exciting shows, demonstrations, horse related games, crafts, and more.

Almaden Summer Horse Camp is at Almaden Equestrian Center in Almaden Valley. Each Summer Horse Camp session is Monday through Friday from 9am-4pm. Extended care is available Monday through Friday 7am-9am and 4pm-6pm.

Each 5-day session is $450 per child. You can register online. Ask about sibling discounts. Refer 3 friends and receive $50 off upon their paid enrollment in one or more sessions in the 2011 Summer Camp season.

About Almaden Equestrian Center
Almaden Equestrian Center is a friendly, family orientated 6-acre ranch that features a horse boarding facility, large outdoor arena, smaller covered arena, round pen, and plenty of room for riding horses. AEC also has a community snack shack with a full size refrigerator, microwave, and running water. The shaded picnic area is perfect for eating lunch and taking breaks.

Summer 2011 Camp Galileo at Almaden Country School in Almaden Valley – UPDATED 2022

logo: Camp GalileoAt Camp Galileo in Almaden Valley campers engage in hands-on art, science, and outdoor activities every day. They also have tons of fun with camp traditions like dress up days, water day, and the rubber chicken cheer.

Camp Galileo offers four unique weeks, each with their own engaging curriculum theme. You can sign-up for one or multiple weeks.

Each week of camp is built around an intriguing storyline and art and science theme. As the week progresses, activities become more sophisticated and build toward a culminating project.

The 2011 themes include the following:

  • Lost in the Forbidden City: Chinese Art & Building Design
  • Inventor’s Workshop: The Art & Science of Toy Design
  • Detective in Paris: Impressionism & The Science of Sleuthing
  • We Built This City: Urban Art & Environmental Engineering

Camp Galileo is for kids Pre-Kindergarten through 5th Grade. Campers are grouped by grade level into teams that stay together throughout the week.

As campers advance through the three age groups, they delve deeper into science and art concepts, use more advanced materials, and work on more complex team-building challenges.

Camp Galileo is at Almaden Country School from June 20, 2011 through August 5, 2011. Camp is Monday through Friday from 9:00am–3:00pm. Full day and part day programs are offered. Extended care is also available from 8:00am–9:00am and 3:00pm-5:30pm. See the detailed schedule. [EVENT IS CLOSED]

The price varies depending on the number of weeks your child attends and whether you choose the full day or part day program.

Enroll online now to ensure a spot for your camper in the session of your choice. Campers who attend for 4 weeks receive a $50 discount off their 3rd and 4th weeks, and save 50% off extended care.
