Calero County Park Trails Master Plan Community Meeting
Santa Clara County Parks is holding the next community meeting about the Master Plan for the Calero County Park Trails.
This meeting will be focused on reviewing and commenting on the different plan alternatives that encompass proposed trail uses, trail routes, and regional connections.
This meeting provides another opportunity for the public to offer their input to help shape the Master Plan for the trails surrounding Calero County Park’s beautiful hilly countryside and lake.
In general, the purpose of a park-specific Trails Master Plan for Calero County Park is to:
- Explore opportunities to increase sustainable multiple-use trails throughout the park
- Consider trail alignments and connections to regional trails
- Plan for new trails in the portions of the park not yet open to the public
- Ensure consistency with the Countywide Trails Master Plan and Strategic Plan
In March 2011, a draft Program Development Report was published that defines the framework to develop the Calero County Park Trails Master Plan.
In May 2011, the Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation Department held two Open House events to provide the community the opportunity to learn about the Trails Master Plan project, and share their ideas and provide input.
Over 280 individual comments were received at the events and tabulated in a Summary of Open House Comments.
The next meeting will be held at Almaden Community Center on Thursday, September 15, 2011 from 6:00-8:30pm.
Sign-in and preview of the presentation materials will be from 6:00-6:30. The presentation will begin promptly at 6:30pm, followed by a small group discussion at 7:15pm
