Older Americans Barbeque Bash In celebration of Older Americans Month in May, Almaden Community Center in collaboration with the Almaden Senior Association will be hosting an Older Americans Barbeque Bash. This Older Americans Barbeque will include hot dogs, chips, lemonade, and ice cream, as well as lawn games, entertainment by Blue Sky Musical Group, and more!

Mothers and Flowers – A Pre-Mother’s Day Hike

Celebrate Mother’s Day 2025 early with a moderate 2.5-mile hike on the Stile Ranch, Mine, and Fortini trails. You’ll hear stories about mothers who were important to the area’s history and see colorful late-spring wildflowers.

Meet at the Fortini Trailhead on San Vicente Avenue off Fortini Road with sturdy shoes, snacks, and water. Leashed dogs, children, and families are welcome.

Valentine’s Silent Disco Dance at the Almaden Community Center

Almaden Community Center Valentine's Silent Disco DanceRegister now for the Valentine’s Silent Disco Dance for older adults 50+ at the Almaden Community Center!

A silent disco is an event where participants dance while tuning into music through wireless headphones. Instead of traditional speakers, music is broadcasted via a radio transmitter, allowing dancers to choose from different music channels.

Almaden Senior Association Annual Soup Party

Almaden Senior Association Annual Soup PartyThe Almaden Senior Association Annual Soup Party will be on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, from 12:00pm – 2:00 pm (soup served at noon). Homemade Chicken Taco, Corn Chowder, Sausage Rice, and Pumpkin Squash soup will be served with fresh bread and cookies.

Ticket sales will begin on Monday, Jan. 6, and continue every MWF from 8am – 10am in the lobby of the Almaden Community Center. Cost is $10, cash or check only.

The Almaden Senior Association is an all-volunteer organization of Active Adults (50+) which initiates, supports and promotes programs and activities for the active adult population at the city-operated Almaden Community Center. Les Misérables School Edition at Pioneer High School

Les Miserables School Edition at Pioneer High SchoolGet your tickets now for Les Misérables School Edition at Pioneer High School! Pioneer High School’s Glue Factory along with the Advanced Drama will be presenting Les Misérables School Edition nightly from Oct. 23-26, 2024 at the Steve Dini Stage at Pioneer High School. Les Misérables School Edition is a version of the classic musical by Alain Boubil and Claude-Michel Schöneberg, based on the novel by Victor Hugo. The Glue Factory Players are a group of adults at Pioneer High School who put on a musical every October to raise money for the school’s drama program.

Reserved seating can be purchased online at phsdrama.ludus.com. General seating will be sold at the door each night starting at 6:30 pm.

All sales are final and will be considered a generous donation.

Almaden Senior Association Beach Party PicnicGet your tickets now for the Almaden Senior Association Beach Party Picnic at the Almaden Community Center! The party is on Saturday, July 13th, 2024, from 12-3pm.

Here’s what’s in store:

  • Buffet of spiral wrap sandwiches, mini corn dogs, hot wings, salad, fruit, and cheese plates.
  • Dessert and Island punch.
  • Fun and games such as Connect 4, Cornhole and Jenga.
  • Popcorn as you enter the party.
  • A photo booth to save your memories of the day.
  • Musical entertainment by Pan Extasy steel drum band.

Wear beach attire: bright shirts, shorts, sandals, caftans, sun hats (no bikinis or speedos, please).
