Santa Storytime and Craft
Come to the Almaden Library on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025 from 3:30pm to 4:30pm for a special Santa Storytime and Craft for children. Join Santa for stories, songs, and a cool craft afterward. Photo opportunity at the end.
Please note that Santa will need to return to the North Pole at 4:30pm. He will accommodate as many children as possible. This program is geared for children of all ages and their parents/caregivers.
Free. No registration required. This program is developed to align with the Early Education Quality Standards.

Almaden Community Center Winter 2026 Activity Guide
The Almaden Community Center Winter 2026 Activity Guide is now available! See what classes are being offered in Arts & Crafts, Dance, Sports, and more. There are so many great options for preschoolers through Active Adults 50+. Most activities start in January 2026, but the guide also has information about 2025 holiday events such as Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, as well as Winter Camps running from 2/18 – 2/20, 2026.
Classes and events fill up quickly, so don’t delay! Register in person at the Almaden Community Center or sign up online at www.sjregistration.com.

2025 Run Turkey Run
It’s time for that great Almaden Valley Thanksgiving tradition – the Bret Harte Athletics & Booster Club’s 2025 Run Turkey Run 5K/10K! This year the family-fun turkey run will be held on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27 at 8:30 am. The run starts and ends at Leland High School in scenic Almaden Valley, San Jose. Both the 5K and 10K courses are run on level terrain on the paved trails along the Alamitos Creek and the Open Space area.

About Chicago, The Musical:

Set in 1920s Chicago and based on real-life murders and trials, Chicago follows Roxie Hart, a wannabe vaudevillian star who murders her lover and is arrested, despite her attempts to convince her pushover husband, Amos, to lie for her. In the Cook County Jail, Roxie meets her hero, the famed double-murderess and nightclub performer Velma Kelly. When both acquire the same lawyer, the greedy and lustful superstar, Billy Flynn, tensions come to a head as they vie for the spotlight– though instead of onstage, they’re mugging for the flashbulb of the newspaper reporters. About Leland Drama:
Leland Drama is a course designed around producing a show for the semester, with students taking active roles in technical and creative capacities. Crew and cast collaborate and work together to make a successful and enjoyable show.
Drama accepts auditions and new members at the start of each school semester. All of the cast and crew members are either students taking the Drama class or volunteered for drama to get volunteer hours.

Diwali Celebration 2025
On Sunday, October 26, 2025, the Indian Community Members of the Almaden Senior Association will host a Diwali Celebration from 12pm to 3pm at the Almaden Community Center.
Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is one of India’s most important and colorful celebrations. Festivities will feature beautiful decorations, a flavorful multi-course Indian dinner, high-energy Indian dances and a drawing for door prizes.
