Description:

A fun and competitive indoor full-court basketball program accommodating youths from 1st grade to high school. Targeted for players with no experience to players who have played many years.

Format:

Almaden Youth Basketball will form teams for all individual players that register, recruit volunteer coaches, provide indoor practice gym space and organize games for each team.

You can also find information about R.O.C.K. Afterschool, Camp San Jose Fall Break Camp, as well as special fall and winter events such as the 17th Annual Harvest Festival and Breakfast with Santa. There are so many great options to choose from, for families, kids, and adults of all ages.

This fun-filled evening is all about bringing the community together with exciting activities for all ages. Enjoy classic lawn games, creative chalk art, and organized activities, and bring a blanket and lawn chairs for a family-friendly outdoor movie at sunset to wrap up the night. Concession food will be sold cash only. It’s a perfect opportunity to connect, relax, and enjoy a summer night with your community!

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.

Almaden Little League Fall 2025It’s time to register for Almaden Little League Fall 2025 baseball and softball!

Everything you need to know about the league and registration can be found on the Almaden Baseball and Softball Little League website. In summary:

Registration

Almaden Little League offers 2 seasons to register for. The Spring season runs from February through May, and registration opens in November and runs through December. The Fall season runs from September to early November and registration opens in July.

Teen Book Sale at Almaden Library

Teen Book Sale at Almaden LibraryTeen volunteers run a Teen Book Sale at Almaden Library the third Saturday of each month, selling books for children, pre-teens, and teens. The next sale will be July 19, 2025.

Gently-used children’s books, picture books, popular paperbacks and hardcovers are available for purchase. Proceeds benefit the Almaden Branch Library and Almaden Teens Reach, Almaden Valley’s local teen volunteer organization.

Read to SucceedRead to Succeed: Reading with a Police Officer

Join a special guest from the San José Police Department (SJPD) at the Almaden Branch Library to share stories and the joys of reading to children as part of the library’s Read to Succeed early education program. Almaden Library is excited to partner with the SJPD to bring this special program to the Almaden neighborhood.

Read to Succeed is a partnership between the San José Public Library and the SJPD to promote early literacy, as well as build positive and inspiring interactions between police officers, children and their caregivers through structured programming at San Jose Public Library locations.

2025 Water Lantern Festival at Almaden Lake Park

2025 Water Lantern Festival - Image of lanterns on lakeThere’s still time to get Early Bird ticket prices for the 2025 Water Lantern Festival at Almaden Lake Park July 18-20, 2025. This is a very popular event, so get your tickets now! Along with entry to the festival, each adult and youth ticket comes with a floating lantern kit, commemorative drawstring bag, and more.

Gates open at 5:30, when you and your family can enjoy food trucks, music and fun! At 8:00 you’ll design your lantern, and then from 8:30 – 10:00 is the Lantern Launch, where you’ll witness the beauty of thousands of lanterns and their lights reflecting upon the water.

Water Lantern Festival is committed to sustainability. The price covers the cost of collecting and removing the lanterns from the water following the event as well as cleaning up any trash that may have previously been in or around the water. The lanterns are made from rice paper and wood, so they are as eco-friendly as possible, and they reuse and recycle the LED candles.

Additionally, Water Lantern Festival is partnered with Water.org, an organization dedicated to providing safe water to millions of people around the world.
