Children’s Day at History Park in San Jose included photos and trolley ride with Santa Claus, holiday arts and crafts for children, hand-operated cart on tracks, story times with the Snow Queen, and St. James AME Youth Choir. The day was enjoyed by all!

Almaden Valley home lights up the night with Christmas music and lights. Just how many lights? More than 8,500 white, red, and green lights on 10 little trees and the walkway. The house also has dripping icicle lights and some strobe lights. The lights are synchronized across the yard to suit the mood of the background music being played.
Lord of the Light Art Studio & Gallery in Almaden Valley offers a Weekly Art Program throughout the entire year, including the Summer months of June, July, and August. Students attend an average of four classes per month.

Almaden Community Center is offering a special Genealogy & Family History Class. You will learn methods and tools to discover and preserve your family’s unique story. The class is for adults age 50 and up. Pamela Erickson will be your instructor.

Celebrate New Year’s Eve 2012 at Sonoma Chicken in Almaden Valley. Socialize and dance away the rest of 2011 to the throw back sounds of 70’s disco and funk.
Hors d’oeuvre reception begins at 7:30pm. Costume prize contest for best 70’s dressed. Celebrate the start of 2012 at midnight with a sparkling wine toast. Entertainment continues until 1am.
Mad Science presents “Light, Sight & Sound,” an eight week after school program for children in 1st-5th grade.
Light, Sight & Sound is being offered at Williams Elementary School in Almaden Valley. The program is on Tuesdays, January 3, 2012 through February 28, 2012 from 2-3pm. (No class on February 21, 2012.)
