Almaden Little League Fall 2024 Registration for Almaden Little League Fall 2024 is currently open!

Baseball:

Fall little league baseball rec season runs from September through mid-November. During “Fall Ball” it’s likely that Almaden L.L. teams will play teams from other leagues (e.g., Campbell L.L., San Jose-American L.L., Lincoln Glen L.L., etc.) – both at home in Almaden and away at their fields. Games are typically on Sundays.

Fall Ball is a great opportunity for any kid to have more fun and get more practice. It’s also an opportunity to play in the divisions they will play in the coming spring. If they are moving up a division, they will get used to the higher level in a low-stress environment.

Softball:

Fall little league softball rec season is inexpensive and travel is limited. This is a great opportunity for any girl to have more fun and get more practice. It’s also an opportunity to play in the divisions they will play in the coming spring. If they are moving up a division, they will get used to a bigger ball and a bigger field in a low stress environment.

Should there be interest, summer competitive teams will continue to play competitive softball into the fall.

It’s advised that all girls play in the division they are moving to in the spring regardless of competition level.

Almaden Valley Real Estate Market June 2024 – The Almaden Valley single family home market ended June on a quiet note. After April’s and May’s strong showing, the market is settling into the seasonally quiet summer period. Inventory increased significantly since May; 32 homes for sale in June versus 25 the previous month. The number of homes that sold dropped from 42 in May to 21 in June, and the number of pending contracts experienced a similar drop from 32 to 20 during the same time period.

All that being said, the average price per square foot increased from $993 in May to $1,024 in June, indicating that there is still keen buyer interest in Almaden Valley despite the sleepy summer. Mortgage rates have remained fairly steady, a factor that doubtlessly is contributing to the continuing buyer interest in Almaden Valley.

4th of July 2024Get ready for family fun at the 9th Annual 4th of July 2024 Fireworks Festival at Almaden Lake Park!

DATE: July 4th, 2024
TIME: Festival starts at 3:00 PM – Fireworks will begin approximately 9:15 PM
LOCATION: Almaden Lake Park

In addition to fabulous fireworks by Blackstar Fireworks, there will be a Fun Zone, a Food Court, and entertainment by The Snarky Cats band! There will also be a half-time show including Comedy Sportz, Patriotic Outfit Awards, National Anthem, and more.

This community event depends on volunteers to make it a success. The Almaden Valley Women’s Club is working with Councilmember Arjun Batra and District 10 to manage this year’s 4th of July Fireworks Festival. Almaden Cabana Club – The Almaden Cabana Club offers three pools, swim lessons, and a Junior Lifeguard program. The club is also home to the Dolphins Swim Team. Almaden Golf & Country Club – In addition to an 18-Hole championship golf course and two tennis courts, the Almaden Golf & Country Club has a large swimming pool that accommodates the club’s swim team, The Gators. Almaden Swim and Racquet Club (ASRC) – The Almaden Swim and Racquet Club is located in the Country Club neighborhood of Almaden. In addition to six USTA championship tennis courts, the club offers three pools to choose from and swim lessons. The ASRC is also home to Quicksilver Swimming (QSS), a year-round, competitive swim team that offers high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. Crossgates Swim Club – The Crossgates Swim Club (also known as Crossgates Cabana Club) is located in the family-friendly Almaden neighborhood of Crossgates. Almaden Valley Real Estate Market April 2024 – The Almaden Valley single family home market wrapped up April 2024 in stunning fashion. All major market factors were up from not only last month, but the same time last year. The number of homes that sold in April was up 25% from March; 30 versus 24. The number of homes under contract shot up 60%; 40 last month versus 25 in March. Although the 30 homes that sold in April 2024 were a respectable increase of 11% from the same time last year when 27 homes sold, the 40 homes under contract are a stunning 43% higher than the 28 from the same time last year.

Average price per square foot showed a modest increase of a little over 6% from March ($1,025/sqft versus $963/sqft) but were an impressive 25% higher than same time last year, when the average price per square foot was $818.

Almaden Valley real estate has been favoring sellers for quite a while, and that pattern continues. Buyer interest in the area remains keen, and there doesn’t appear to be anything at this time to indicate this will change any time soon. If you’re thinking about buying or selling, contact me now!

Join an Almaden Quicksilver Park Interpreter for a Quicksilver History Hike in the Almaden Hills to discover how our changing values have impacted the landscape, and a once bustling mining enterprise became a County Park. This moderate 3-4 mile hike leaves from the Wood Road parking lot of Almaden Quicksilver County Park. This hike will cover history content that is geared towards an adult audience. Best for ages 10+

Limited space! Please only sign up a max of 4-5 people. If you know more people would like to join, please share the registration form link. Reservations are not required but they are strongly recommended as parking is limited at the trailhead.

Almaden Community Center Summer 2024 Activity Guide The Almaden Community Center Summer 2024 Activity Guide is now available, offering exciting classes, workshops, and dozens of summer camps! The guide has so many great options to choose from, for preschoolers through Active Adults 50+.

Summer 2024 season registration will open Saturday, May 4 at 10am. Early registration for scholarship eligible participants will be in person on Wednesday April 24 at 10am. Registration for Active Adult members will begin online and in person on Wednesday, May 1 at 10am. Spring registration and summer camp registration are currently open.

About the Almaden Senior Association

The Almaden Senior Association is an all-volunteer organization of Active Adults (50+) which initiates, supports and promotes programs and activities for the active adult population at the City-operated Almaden Community Center. The Association works in collaboration with City staff responsible for operating the Center.
